Life is barren unless one has something to live for. Living should be more than existing and waiting for a crisis to develop. Rich living involves striving for and making progress toward personal goals. Goals and interests in daily activities keep one going when difficul- ties are encountered. Many of you have been involved in bringing honors to our school this year. We are proud of our student body and wish each of you the very best in the future. esmax Key Personnel af D. Laughfer and Relief THIS TURNING POINT IN OUR LIVES I just now looked back over my shoulder and deeply felt a vast ocean of memories engulf myself and take hold of all my senses, They came in a continuous flow until I begged them never cease. I glance at the familiar faces of dear friends and the strange faces of those I never really knew. I hear all the laughs and cries we've shared as I remember these early years We've together lived through. I feel a sudden surge of fear as I realize that I must now prepare myself to turn around -to face today and to look toward tomorrow, With hopes of fulfillment for dreams l I have found. Though the time has come for the Class of '78 to depart we shall never lose our memories of you, Durant High, for we will always possess the qualities inherited from you And between us shall always exist And never be broken, a bonded tie. We say Good-Bye,', for we can now take this first step Just as children learning to walk, we too will learn. May tomorrow bring us not only wealth and success, but also the happiness and acceptance, For which we all secretly yearn. By Sherri Dillard I 3 r l. Will the real grad- uate please stand up? 2.
