Secretary Treasurer Moderator Musically and scholastically this has been a good year for the sisters of Beta Chi Beta Sorority. Beginning the fall semester with their Carnival Show, The End Turns , the sisters portrayed nurses in the comical portrait of hospital life. They participated in Carnival with the Gamma Phi Fraternity. They copped the second place trophy in the annual Creek Sing competition under the direction of Donna Mentkowski. The Beta Chfs sang Let There Be Peace and Sophanaric Philosophy . Scholastically the Beta Chi's received the Scholastic trophy as the sorority whose members combined have the highest over-all Q.P.A. for a semester. Rich Falvo was the Beta Chi Beta sweetheart. B. Marfia As the rulers of men on an unknown planet the sisters of Alpha Phi Omicron captured the Best Show trophy for their 1963 Carnival show, Brave New World . jointly with Alpha Epsilon Fraternity the Omicrons also sponsored the Carnival Ball which was held this year at Westview Danceland. In addition to a Beatle rush party in the spring and selling mistletoe at Christmas time for their chairty pro- ject, the Omicrons also held two concerts with Sigma Lambda Phi Sorority. The two groups brought folk singer Indy Collins to Duquesne in November and for a return engagement in April. Under the direction of Mayo Shuck the Omicrons sang Inch Worm and Siboney during the Creek Sing com- petition and participated in the Derby Days activities. Ralph Gutowski was the Omicron sweetheart.
