TTT'- Once again the Red and Blue of Duquesne capped a fine season with a trip to New York and an N.I.T. Tournament bid. Their loss to Army in the hair-raising initial game of the N.I.T. did little to dim their other achievements throughout the season. The Dukes' fabulous per- formance in the devastating defeat of a strong Toledo team, 98-66, clinched their bid. The finals of the Steel Bowl Tournament against Pitt will long be remembered and hotly discussed as the Dukes had apparent victory snatched from them on a timekeeper's decision, only to lose in overtime as Willie Somerset fouled out. Wee Willie turned in several record-break- ing performances by scoring 46 points against St. Bonaventure, only to top himself with a 47 point barrage against Xavier. Backing Somerset was the precision outside shooting of Ron Willard, the defense and scor- ing of Willie Ross, and the leadership of Denny Cuff, who directed the Dukes' attack. Iolm Cegalis, Walt Lautsch, and Pat Schipani pro- vided the team with big men and bench strength.
