f x Theta Psi Om ega Two major changes occurred within the fraternity now known as Theta Psi Omega this year. Once known as the Pershing Rifles, the fraternity dropped its military qualifi- cations to become primarily a social organization on cam- pus. Official recognition came in February and the group is now known as Theta Psi Omega fraternity. The second major change within the fraternity was that they sold their famous white fire engine which was used for transportation to social activities. Participation in the Fall Carnival the brothers ran a booth on the lot called, The PR Gambling Casino. Athletically they competed in all activities: football, basketball, bowling and softball. In the annual Greek Sing competition they sang Moments to Remember and Over Theren under the direction of brother George Iupinko. The primary social activity of the year was a co- sponsorship of the Military Ball held at the Penn-Sheraton Hotel featuring Frank Iarema and his orchestra. Miss Carol Valkanas was their sweetheart.
