Phi Sigma Delta Fraternity this year combined a calendar of social, athletic, academic and charitable ac- tivities. During the Fall Carnival the brothers operated three booths Within the Carnival area. Two of these were game booths and the other was a concession stand. Athletically they participated in all intramural activities. They captured second place in the Inter- Fraternity Football competition and third place in the Bowling League. One of their major activities of the year was their Halloween project at Children's Hospital. In addition to all of these activities, the Phi Sigis received the Scholastic Trophy, symbolic of the fraternity whose members com- bined have the highest over-all Q.P.A, for a semester. One of the most socially active fraternities on campus, the brothers of Sigma Chi Theta sponsored many activities this year open to the entire student body. In the fall semester they co-sponsored the Carnival show, Go Live in a Tree,', with Tau Delta Tau Sorority and won the third place trophy. Although they participated in all athletic competition, basketball proved to be their forte as they captured the first place trophy in the Inter-Fraternity Basketball League. However, they lost the school championship to the representative from the Independent League. Socially the Sigma Chi's sponsored another Big Blast in the fall followed by the Derby Days competition in the spring. Hoping to establish Derby Days as a yearly social activity, the Sigma Chi's initiated this event which places sorority against sorority in com- petition for a trophy.
