The contrast of city life and life in the country was the theme of Beta Pi Sigma's 1963 Carnival Show. Co- sponsored with Sigma Phi Delta Sorority, the musical, entitled Heartwood Dorf told the story of a good shepherd who left the flock. Athletically the Beta Pi's participated in all intramural activities. During the spring semester they placed third in the Inter-Fraternity Bowling League and captured second place in the Intramural Softball Section. Abandoning the tradition of their annual jazz Show, they co-sponsored a concert by the Pittsburgh Panoramic Pops with Alpha Phi Delta and Gamma Phi. Under the direction of Iordan Cohen the brothers of Beta Pi Sigma placed second in the annual Greek Sing competition. Their selections were the Navy Hymn and a folk song medley including Banua , Bay of Mexico , Santa Anna , and Fast Freight . Miss Marilyn DeMatteis was the Beta Pi Sigma sweetheart. E. Plesz J.
