R. Willison, Treasurer A Dr. G. Matlin, Moderator Initiating the fall semester proved to be a busy time for the brothers of Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. Participat- ing in the fall Carnival the AE,s with the Alpha Phi Omicron Sorority presented Brave New World , a portrait of a planet where the men were ruled by the women. The show was awarded the Best Showi' trophy at the Carnival Ball which the AE,s also co-sponsor with Alpha Phi Omicron. The two groups were responsible for bringing Stan Kenton to Duquesne for the first time. During the fall semester the AE's also captured the Inter-Fraternity Football Crown, but lost the school title to the Playboys in the Championship Came. Rounding out the fall semester they placed third in the Inter- Fraternity Basketball League. In addition to participating in intramural bowling and softball in the spring, they entered Greek Sing under the direction of David Castora. Their selections were How Good It Is and Hallelujah',. As a Fraternity they blend a social calendar of mixers and extra-curricular activities with an active athletic program. Miss joan Hart was the AE's sweetheart. C. Johns, Secretary W. In co-operation with a group of independents, brother Dan Felice received the Best Actorv award for his portrayal of the father in the Show. Active in all phases of intramural athletics, the Alpha Phi's were responsible for many cultural activities on cam- pus. Not only did they sponsor a performance by the Tamburitzans in November, but in co-operation with the Beta Pfs and the Gamma Phfs they presented a Concert by the Pittsburgh Panoramic Pops Orchestra at the Syria Mosque in April. Another integral part of their calendar was the Christmas Party that they held at St. Paul's Orphanage. Highlighting their year of social activity was Greek Sing. Brother Jay McDonough directed the Alpha Phi's through When jesus Wepti' and A 'Soalinv leading them to the First Place trophy. Miss Dorothy McBride was the Alpha Phi Delta sweetheart. D.
