Striv- ing to honor those girls who have shown outstand- ing leadership and service to duPont, Gold Key endeavors to render service to the community and the school. Starting the new year off with a bang, the duPont Gold Key elected ofricers and set up several projects to begin the year. Among their many and varied projects, the girls sold tickets to the Meninac Game, Junior Miss Contest, and worked along with the male Key-Clubbers on the March of Dimes Campaign. When two new in- terns entered Dragon Land , the Gold Key is- sued them a warm welcome by inviting the college students to a breakfast. An induction tea was held and gold keys were presented to the officers and members. As Gold Key establishes a place at duPont, it strives to attain the standard of a strong and active service organization.

The new members repeat their induction pledge. Mrs. Burnice Norwood, Public Relations Coordinator for the Florida Publishing Company, was the speaker at the induction. UILL AN CROLL The duPont Chapter of Quill and Scroll, Inter- national Honor Society for High School Journalists, consisted of thirteen members in 1963. Membership is limited to duPonter and Alidupan staffers who have done outstanding work on these publications and who are in the upper one-third of their class. The organizations chief purposes are to reward faithful service, to encourage high academic and journalistic standards, and to create an interest in journalism as a career. l 1 l M iv 3 am Q ln I M M, in Left to izght Front row Mrs Burnice Norwood, Julie Cann, Sybil Evarts, Cecelia Federspicl, Renee Slutzah, Lee Cone, Dana Dunbar Second row Buddy Nlorton Daxid Hutchings, Glenn Flach, Curt Glick, Kathy Marshall, Sid Sack. 47

Key Club began its activities during the summer, selling snow cones and cleaning up the football Held. During the year Key Club members could be seen selling book-covers, Christmas wrapping paper, and rubber stamps. High points of the year included the annual Thanksgiving basket drive, the Student Leaders! Banquet, the Florida State Convention in Hollywood, Fla., and the annual Sweetheart Dance, held this year in the Mayflower Hotel. At the dance, next year's Sweet- heart and her court were presented. The new oflicers were inducted at the Parent-Son Banquet. Here mem- bers' parents also learned about Key Club and its objec- tives.
