SS duP0 T C0 TE T The crowning of Donna Jean Waring as Miss duPont 1963 brought to a climax a well organized and exciting evening. The annual contest was held in the Prudential Auditorium, Thursday night, January 17, 1963, at 7:30. The decoration theme of question marks Ht in well with the mood of sus- pense which filled the auditorium. The contestants first appeared in sheaths at which time they were introduced. When the contestants reappeared they had changed into formals and were asked one ques- tion each. The semi-finalists were then announced: Patti Powell, Diane Davis, Leslie Zelt, Donna War- ing, and Kay Kehoe. The semi-finalists were sent off the stage and one-at-a-time reappeared to be asked two questions, one serious and one comical: If you could have your choice of only one virtue or characteristic which one would you choose? If you had refused a date with one boy, and later ac- cepted a date with another boy, and on your date saw the boy whom had asked you out iirst, what would you do? Many mothers were blamed for the daughter's mistake, but sincerity and telling the boy the truth won out, and Donna became Miss duP0nt 1963. Contestants: left to right: Kathi Lamb, Nancy Cov ington, Kay Kehoe, Donna Waring, Cindy Streifel Carol Sewell, Diane Davis, Nancy Lewitt, Candy Schwitter, janet Tyrell, Shirley Denning, Pat Cole
