The dreamboat theme was carried out in the decorations, a soft blend of pastel pinks, blues, and greens. Murals of quiet forests and a moonlit river in which a paddlewheel boat was adrift, were only outdone by an enchanted pier leading into the loveliness of an old Southern plantation. The band, Twilight, eased and pleased dancers and listeners by mixing pop and rock with the aid of two female vocalists. A crowd of townspeople visited the prom to view the Coronation. The bells of the dance glided through graceful bows with their escorts beside them. They were followed by the ring bearer and flower girl, who charmed the crowd with their innocence, Jodi Keys and Justin Spillman. 11

Snow Ball ’79 was a spectacular sensation of imagination, sound, light, and color. Upon entering, glints of Fire and Ice caught and held you in its realms. Others, too were caught up in the aura, but none so much as the Snow Ball Court. The retiring queen, Polly Gillan escorted by Mike Edwards, began the Coronation. Becky McQueen, escorted by Terry Baumgarte, served as Snow Princess. The attendants in the order they came were Amie Baldwin escorted by Mike Kelly, Rene Barlow escorted by Dwayne Baumgarte, Lori Bivins escorted by Randy Lady-man, Brenda Koch escorted by Danny Snel-lenberger, Angie Macke escorted by Guy Dopmeyer, and Carla Sudberry escorted by Mark Edwards. Carla Sudberry was announced Queen. The crown was given to her and she proceeded to end the coronation with the queen's dance. 13
