McKENDREE MODEL UNITED NA TIONS Each year students from many schools in the area gather at McKendree College, Lebanon, to participate in a mock United Nations debate. Dupo is traditionally represented by a group of senior history students. The students represent all of the countries in the United Nations General Assembly and Security Council. They heatedly argue world problems from the point-of-view of the countries they represent. The students return to their schools with a new and deeper appreciation and understanding of the modern world and its myriad problems. 16

BECK VOCATIONAL CENTER Beck Area Vocational Center is located in the Hecker-New Athens area. B.A.V.C. courses are available to the junior and senior students from the ten participating high schools. Beck offers its students job placement assistance and scholarship and financial aid information. The students attend Beck three hours daily and earn 2-2'A credits a year. The rest of the day is spent in their regular classes at Dupo High.
