During the past summer, Diane Warren, a Senior, spent eight days on a trip to Washington D. C. She was awarded the trip for writing an essay in a contest sponsored by the Monroe County Electric Cooperative. Diane was one of thirty-four students from the state of Illinois who were awarded the trip.

Donald Kussmaul, a Senior, was awarded a trip to the United Nations during last summer. The trip, sponsored by the Rebekah Lodges of the 26th District, lasted seventeen days. As one of thirty-five students from Illinois taking the trip, Donald spent two and one half days in Washington, D. C., and six days in New York City at the United Nations.
