Ben Justesen and Woody Osborne were selected by the Harnett County Morehead Scholarship Committee as the two 1967 candidates. Honors 4 g : a Carol Cookman and Ben Justesen attended the 1966 summer session of the Governor’s School in Winston- Salem. Carol was a violinist in the School’s orchestra and Ben was selected to attend in English. Forty-five

Linda Tew was treasurer of the Sophomore Class and was Judi- cial Chairman of the Student Council and is an officer in the DECA Club. Charles Whittenton served as vice-president of the senior class and Beta Club in 1967. He was Ways and Means Chairman of the Student Council and a member of the Annual Staff. Charles played varsity football throughout high school. Forty-four Donna Ruth Ennis served as Col- lege Day Chairman in 1966 and as Treasurer of the Student Council her junior year. She was a varsity cheerleader for two years and was elected DAR Good Citizen as well as FFA Sweetheart. A member of the Beta Club, she served as Vice- President of the Sr. Tri-Hi-Y and as President of the Jr. Tri-Hi-Y. Johnny Parker attended Boys’ State in 1966 and served as Chair- man of the Senior Debating League. He was a Junior Marshal and a member of the Student Council. He was the 1966 recipi- ent of the WOW History Award. Diane Corbin served as Secretary of the Student Council in 1966 and as Publicity and Orientation Chair- man in 1967. She was an outstand- ing member of the girls’ basket- ball team. A member of the An- nual Staff, she also served as Sec- retary of the Beta Club. Kay Judge was elected treasurer of the senior class and was a member of the Beta Club. Dollye Peay served as treasurer of the Sr. Tri-Hi-Y in 1966 and 1967. She was a Junior Marshal and Head Cheerleader. A member of the Beta Club, Student Coun- cil, and Annual Staff, she attended Girls’ State in 1966. Johnny Smo- thers served as President of the Senior Class and was selected to attend Boys’ State in 1966. He was Vice-President of the Sopho- more Class and was a member of the Beta Club, Annual Staff, and Student Council.

Honors Donna Ruth Ennis was chosen by the Dunn chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution as the 1967 DAR Good Citizen from Dunn High School. Forty-six Ben Justesen was selected as a Merit Semi-Finalist in the annual program of the National Merit poration. Scholarship Cor- Donna Ruth Ennis was the recipient of the DAR History Award in 1966. Johnny Parker was chosen to receive the Wood- men of the World History Award in 1966.
