Sc ioof CPrincipaf Mr. R. Lynn Graham DUNLAP HIGH SCHOOL PI one 962-3842 Route 3 Covington - Virginia 1 962-63 I'o! atr.lap School Student , Hoa often have you asked, How can I get more ou. of school. Tne answer is by developing your independence, initiative,' integrity, imagination, and energy. By independence, we mean to be sufficiently independent to think, to act, to leem for oneself. ’ By initiative, we mean getting the most out of school by doing many things without being asked or told, by studying and learning because you want to stidy and learn. By integrity, we think of a student who does his own work to the bcf-t of h.ia ability. He proves hls-self worthy of his, ability and his friends confidence. The student with integrity doss the thing which he feels la i‘ight. .• By imagination, we mean using your brain, f inning new ways to reach a goal. By energy, we mean work. Education does not come easily, it isn't given to anyone. Only by the ex..rtion of energy is it attained. The harder you work the more you learn. Independence, initintive, integrity, imagination, and en..r5j', these alone oo not giuarantee an education, succeri , or happi.iosH . However, the student who sincerely wants to got more out of school can employ them, ant; he will find that he (Joes indeed get more in return. trur.lap High School baa furnished educational opportunities for students in this area for thirty-four years. Next year It will serve s!- an elementary school. Students and graduates of Uu-tiap have maoc valuable contributions to our comiwunity, state, nation, and our worlo. I hope that wc have learned from experience that the best route to real happiiioss is through serving others. file faculty wishes every stuuent true happitiuss through service to others. Sii.cerely , f . R. urakaa. Principal
