Alleghany County Public Schools COVINGTON, VIRGINIA 0 tee oj ike upertnlendenl TO: THE DUNLAP SENIORS OF 1961 In searching my thoughts for an idea for this message to you, I was reminded of these few lines from the pen of John Ruskin: Make yourselves nests of pleasant thoughts. faithful sayings, treasure-houses of precious and restful thoughts, which care cannot distrub, nor pain make gloomy, nor poverty take away from us - houses built with¬ out hands, for our souls to live in”. In the New Testament Jesus expressed a similar thought when he said. as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he . You are soon to enter a new phase of life in a confused and confusing world, where you will have less protection by parents and more responsibility for your own decisions. Wise decisions grow out of sincere, wholesome thoughts. My personal congratulations on your achievements in becoming Seniors, and my best wishes to each of you for many years of opportunity to help make the world a better place in which to live and work. Sincerely yours, Walter L. Hodnett Division Superintendent WLHrch
