Class History The train of school days for the senior class of ' 58 started in September of ’47. Conductor Miss Rose Fleshman settled the class with Bill Jonas, Linda Wilson, Patricia Carper, Patricia Bradley, Janet Treynor, Shirley Hubbard, Emory Bowyer, Joe Bowyer, Lewis McAllister, Velda Camp- bell, Patricia Carter and Allan Fridley. In the second grade we picked up Mary Sue Bell and Alfred Paxton. Patricia Cochran got on board in the third grade. In the fourth grade we let off Patricia Carter. We picked up Manuel Meadows at Callaghan in the fifth grade. In the seventh we let off Janet Treynor and Shirley Hubbard at Jeter and p i c k e d up Paul Ayers. At Hunter we welcomed aboard Patricia Carter, Betty Howard, Nancy Carter, Janice Surber, Sue Martin, Howard Dameron and Pete Cook. With little trouble through the grades we were soon starting high school. As freshmen with Nancy Carter as president we welcomed Jack Turner and Shirley Fridley aboard. Highlights of the freshman year was the election of Nancy Carter as Miss Dunlap and Patricia Carper and Mary Sue Bell were c h o s e n cheerleaders . As sophomores under the leadership of Richard Kidd we picked up Martha Mentz at White Sulphur, Phyllis Morris at Jeter and Sidney Kirby at Falling Springs. When juniors with Janet Treynor as president we welcomed Berlyn Bratton and Alwilda Griffith. Highlighting the junior year was the election of Patricia Cochran and Velda Campbell as cheerleaders and Nancy Carter was editor of the Knight Herald . At the Junior- Senior banquet we received our class rings. Phyllis Morris reigned as Miss Dunlap. With twenty-nine aboard this ' 58 Express will reach its destination at graduation in June. Before that time our class, led by President Patricia Carter, will have sponsored activities to pay for our senior trip, enjoyed the trip, pro- duced our senior play and edited the ' 58 Reflector .
