Our members serve as reception committees for visitors. We plan to sponsor several movies during the year to aid in buying curtains for the stage. 28

Daring that year approximately 100 books were purchased. In September 1947 the club was again organized consisting of 12 members. This club is a simple plan to induce teen-agers to read, love, and accumulate more good books at a low cost. ' It stimulates more non-required reading among students and enables them to purchase books regularly. 27

Arlene Long (Not Pictured) The Christian Youth Club which was organized forthe first time at Dunlap in September, 1947, is the first of its kind anywhere. In the short time of its existence, many accomplishments have been noted. Its three-fold objectives are: (l) A Christian School, (2) A Christian Community, and ( 3 ) A Christian World. The Club has twent -seven members The hope of the club is that other schools will adopt the club so to widen the fellowship of Christain students and influence. 29
