THE REFLECTOR ASSEI BLY CLUB First row: Myrtle Bowen Kersey, Catherine Eggleston Second row: Helen Eggleston, Martha Byer, Virginia Combs Third row: Billy Crosier, Odelle Smith, Doris McDaniel, Norma Cray The purpose of the Assembly Club is to help in the assemblies by presenting two programs during the school year and assisting other groups anytime that help is needed. Our members serve as reception committees for visitors. We plan to sponsor several movies during the year to aid in buying curtains for the stage. 28

THE REFLECTOR Irene Wickline Harold Godby Merrill 0 Connor Virginia Shay Regina Griffith Patty Harman Pansy Reynolds Daisy Armentrout Loraine Hoke BOOK CLQB The Teen-Age Book Club was first organized at Dunlap High School in September 1946 with a total of 22 members. Daring that year approximately 100 books were purchased. In September 1947 the club was again organized consisting of 12 members. This club is a simple plan to induce teen-agers to read, love, and accumulate more good books at a low cost. ' It stimulates more non-required reading among students and enables them to purchase books regularly. 27

Arlene Long (Not Pictured) The Christian Youth Club which was organized forthe first time at Dunlap in September, 1947, is the first of its kind anywhere. In the short time of its existence, many accomplishments have been noted. Its three-fold objectives are: (l) A Christian School, (2) A Christian Community, and ( 3 ) A Christian World. The Club has twent -seven members The hope of the club is that other schools will adopt the club so to widen the fellowship of Christain students and influence. 29
