Seated upon its petals we find a little eltin who fortells what the future will bring. In the office of attorneys Gilray and Phillips situated in the heart of the professional district of New York City, there is much dissension. Laverne Baker, their secretary, shows an attitude of sheer boredom as the two vie for her affections. Who is this pacing back and forth? Mutt Quandt, the once prominent stage hand, awaits the verdict to be brought him from his wife, Norma lean, about their newly-born offspring. But wait . . . Here comes the head nurse, Lorene Bartlett, and her associates, Dorothy Braun, Cruciana Mancuso, and Annabelle Cych. Catch the man! He's faintedl Quadruplets aren't an everyday occurance. Here we see a promising industry run by Ioseph Swica and Iames Snyder, which is now becoming a national success. Such items as coal dust cloth, and milk weed material are manufactured. Employed in this enterprise are bookkeeper, Lois Gloff, and govern- ment inspectors Norma Hunt, Iean Iagoda, Victoria Moch, William Hamlin, Clemens Korbas, Robert Schulenburg, Reginald Perry and Robert Hagerty. On the thoroughfare from San Francisco to New York City we find many of our old oals who have prospered through the years. Neon lights focus our attention on Will's Place . As we plow through the crowds a smoothlooking gentleman advances toward us. His face rings a familiar note in our memory. lt's William Schwartz. As he sits at our table and orders dinner on the house the floor show begins. Edmund Graminski's Atomides play Missa Froncha by lohn Kilian as the well-known adagio couple, Corny and Dort tCor- nelius Novelli and Dolores Maltal move to its scintillating measures. Pandemonium breaks loose as the act comes to an end. The crowds rush forward to get autographs Gnd SOUVeHirS, but Our hefty bouncers, Robert Carter and Spike Mizwa have things well in hand. As we go backstaqe to congratulate our old acquaintances, we pass Leonard Rizzo, the current crooner, who is about to go on stage. We bid him a fond adieu and pass on up the road. , We're going to crash into something. lt's a pair of skates with a string attached to them. Where does the String lead us? Well, I'll be . . . Skater's Heaven . . . As our rt- flection casts a shadow, the doors-to our amazement-swing open. Through the toll gate we go and complimentary tickets are handed us. Upon questioning the attendant, a chap wearing a blue serge suit is brought to our attention. We put on our skates and glide over to thank none other than loseph Freitas for his hospitality. Dorothy Tuczynski, Arlene Loeb, Mary Ann Larson, Thersa Bialaszewski, Dorothy Mateszon, and Mary Lou Kern make up a troupe of skaters as Iosephine Rizzo does a speciality number. After taking oft. our qyroscope coughs so we desce on the Mourer grounds. Dono1d's wife, the former Nancy Hoeppner, opens the door and inally calls the assistant, William Erb, who fills our tank sleepily. Speeding along, we are stopped by a traffic policeman. Bill Barris. Not being able to bribe him, we call our counsel, Grace Gestwicki, to pay the fine. At this wee hour of the morning we stop at the Hall of Fame. Dancing techniques are on display. A troupe of dancers gracefully swing on the stage. Beverly Ball, Marie Bennice, Shirley Kanistareaux, Florence Laiewski, and Geraldine Mahonsky are met by loseph Boli- vard, Norman Engstrom, Arthur Pokrzywka, Iames Wheeler, and Arthur Kubasik in the cen- ter of the stage. The couples swing and sway to the fascinating rhythm of the tango. In the realm of sports the championship girls' football teams are ready to begin the .last game of the season. The cheerleaders for the Bloomergirls-Gale Damon, Robert Daily, Donald Grupa, Herbert Strubing, Edmund Dull, and Otto Eckerle are wildly applauding their captain, Rocco Dolce. On the line of scrimmage we find Lois Burgett, Margaret Borio, Rose Fote, Mary Iochym, Dorothy Kuiawa, loyce LaPoint, Eleanor Ranus, Adele Penkaty, Winifred Ochocki, Florence Wysocki, and Evelyn Woods. The opposing team, coached by Peter Long, comprises Clara Zebraski. Ruth Weimer, Zelda Vogt, Bernice Zogt, Ioan Szocki, Victoria Sweich, Lena Smith, Betty Ann Scott, Mary Ann Schrantz, Elaine Ross, and Ioyce Philbrick. Is it possible that the rooters of the Bloomer- girls can compete with their opponents, the Rock-ettes which compose Ioseph Baidas, Bern- ard Baszak, Raymond Bycznski, Norman Klajbor, Anthony Sarlzarulla, and Richard Zach- arias. Such vim, vigor, and vitality cannot be without its reward. l35l Intermission brings forth a sparkling array of musical talent. All eyes are diverted to the glamorous figures of our maiorettes, Dorothy Newell and Marie Brown. Following close behind them is Peter Ingavo leading his famous Symphonic Seven . Pulling a huge multi-colored float are Richard Lewandoski, William Lesch, Ralph Moch, and Ioseph Nocek. Seated on a high tiara is Madame Ioanne Iones who has just been crowned Queen for this event. She is surrounded by the maidens of her court, Betty Lou Bolling, Eleanor lesse, Vilma Lofano, Virginia Messina, Frances Parlato, Elaine Synder, Ann Warren, and Nancy Crawford. The delicious aroma of hot dogs wafts itself in our direction and our resistance is shattered. In a matter of seconds we find ourselves wending our way to the stand where we are served by Irene Dull. Also scurrying around behind the counter are Ioan Gostom- ski, and Rita Graminski in their neat white smocks. Supervising the activties is our big time operator, Donald Reilly. Realizing it's time to rest our weary bones, we take off once more: this time with our eyes turned toward home. After settling our gyroscope in the safety of its shelter, we stagger to the door and drop into the nearest chair. The evening paper, edited by Chip Shelton, dis- closes many interesting items: The engagement of Dorothy Lyszewski to Raymond Dudek is announced by her parents . Professor Thomas Kozlowski, now teaching at the University of Altuna, is visiting his parents who reside on Salomey Avenue . A lecture, 'The Art of Learning', was outlined by Iohn Sobkowski at the home of Miss Iosephine Sunzeri . The Actor's Guild present their officers for the ensuing year: Oliver Price, president: Kate Reisterer, vice-president: Phyllis Raths, secretary: and Donald Owen, treasurer., The next meeting is to be held at the home of Miss Ioanne Walldorff . Ruth Glasier, class of '47 at D. H. S., has broken the shorthand speed limit with the outstanding record of 210 words a minute . The Chrysler Building in New York City was purchased by Norman Ossman, and refinished by Rzepkowski Gt Pakulski, Inc. It is now considered the shgwplace of centuries. The works of the great fashion designer, Lorraine Pagano, played an important part in its establishment. Such well-known models as Natalie Michalak, Loretta Polcyn, Margaret Meyer, Lorraine Krzystofiak, Marian Martinelli, and Nancy Iarvis drew both the feminine and masculine population to view the outstanding styles and to put their O. K. on the estab- lishment. Rita Kupiec, now handling her own thirty minute comic show over station, WDUN, will spend two weeks in her home town. Her stand-in, lane Iaguszewski, will take over during that time . The Phelka-Recek bill, including a conservation provision and introduced by the first two women elected to the Senate has been passed by a two-thirds vote of that house, Ioseph Ryczko announced today . So Hard Your Heart' written by Natalie Marmurowicz and dedicated to Oliver Metzger is the novel offered by the Book of the Month Club this semester . We board our private escalator which takes us immediately to our bedroom where our plastic pajamas, the creation of the great scientist, Ioseph Griffo, are standing at at- tention. Before we jump into bed we push a button which heats the covers, thus assuring us all night comfort. lt seems as though we'll not get any sleep. The doorbell rings and we dash for our housecoats. Before we reach the door our guests rush in. Imagine our surprise at seeing Bernadine Burgung with Raymond Cox. After all, her school day fancies were for out-of- town fellows. Irene Bradley and Marilyn Dietzen, the inseparables, who have been vacationing in Rio, also grace us with their presence. Though our school marms Phyllis Kulpa, Frances Grzeskowiak, and lean Goss are away from the classroom their minds are still on scholastic attainment as they exchange chit-chat in one corner of the room. After a pleasant evening which has finally developed to the wee small hours of morn- ing, we finally gain a well-earned rest. Strolling down memory lane we are greeted by the strains of Semper Paratus climaxing a pleasant episode of our life. l37l Who's Who Boogie Woogie Phyllis Giordano, Iarnes Georgeson Reading, Writing and HISTORY Richard Rusbuldt, Lois Driscoll Fashion Forecast Margaret Feser, Anthony Federico Keep Me Warm Mathew Stempien, Virginia Iusko l38l Must You Ya-ta-ta, Ya- ta ta Rosemary Messina, Russel. F OOTBHLL SUMMHRY The Maroon gridsters finished their '46 season just a little below the fifty per cent mark winning two games, tying two, and losing three. Dunkirk team, on a whole, was fast but the line and backfield were both light in comparison to most of the teams they played. The Wild- cats led in their first game after Fred Long made a touchdown and Paul Phillips made the extra point but in the last quarter Falconer came from behind to tie the score making it 7 -7. In the second game the Raiders traveled to Canisius to top the favored team by a score of '12 to 6. Due to the quick thinking of Guard Iim Wheeler who snagged the pigskin after Georgeson blocked a Iamestown pass the Maroon were able to tie this game C6-Bl. After being defeated twice last year by Fredonia the Maroon clad players came onto the field with victory in their hearts and won a hard fought game by the score of 19 to 7. Salamanca handed the Wildcats their first licking C14-OI of the year. The next game proved to be fatal to the Marauders but it was by far the most thrilling game of the season to the fans as Olean nosed the home team out by the tell-tale score of 13-12. The final game of the season was played in the Fredonia Mudbowl in pouring rain as the field was cov- ered with mud and water. The revengeful Black and Orange gave the Maroon and White the hardest defeat of the year to take as the traditional rivals came out on the long end of a 13 to U score. l60l 1.
