Thursday, April 12, was declared National Weekly Readers' Balloon Day. Each student received a postcard with their name and an explanation about Balloon Day for the finder of their card. Each student also received a helium-filled balloon. They attached their card to the balloon and released it into the strong wind when signaled by the song Anchors Away.” Thirteen cards returned.
