It is difficult to evaluate the importance of a high school education. We know it is the instrument to get the “foot in the door” for future experience and success. A high school education can readily be compared to the start of a sprinter in a track event. The better the education, the greater the chance for winning in the competition ahead. It is possible that, because of the present and future demands in education, the high school diploma has lost some of its luster; but it definitely has gained in importance. This big step toward the future must not be lowered, but widened, so that it becomes available to all youth. Please make the best of your opportunity for a high school education. MR.
