Woody Woodpecker Charlie Chicken Homer Pigeon Henery Hawk 'PiofiAectf Most illustrious faculty members, dearly beloved Seniors, and feliow Juniors. Tonight we are gathered here to say a sad farewell to those unhappy souls who will soon be departing the sanctity of the hallowed halls of Dunker-ton High. These poor little darlings must venture forth into the. cold, cruel world to face almost unsurmountable ob.iects in their path to success. We are all sure that the courage of bygone years shall come through and they will rise to the top of the ladder of fame. Suppose we could pick up a newspaper dated May 5, 1969. We might find some very familiar names, for instance: Here’s an item from the front page. Bess Magee, noted Psychoanalyst, has lust signed a contract with P. G. McKinley of Dunkerton, to find what is the matter with the students. They have no pep and are melancholy. Guess there .lust never will be another guy like Walt Schneider. Doesn't seem to be.anything else interesting on the front page,so let's turn to the entertainment section. Look here: Premier a Success Louis B. Mayer, of M-G-M, says his newest picture, The Great Reversal is the best picture ever produced. Seven hundred of Hollywood's notables, including the stars. Miss Mary Renz and Charles Boyer, turned out for a gala reception. Among the prominent society folk were, Mr. J. K. Holdiman, and his lovely guest. Miss Dorothy Happel, Mrs. Mabel Mason of Miami, Mr. and Mrs. Spike Jones, and Mr. Donald McMahon. After the premier, guests went to Ciro's where cavair sandwiches and 7up were served. Imagine this I Coming soon to the Tavern on the Green; Koo and his all girl orchestra, starring Doris Schmidt and her magic clarinet. I wonder if Skeeter is going, he probably heard enough of that noise back in the old days. Herschel Siggelkov really made a big success with his orchestra in Sleepy Hollow. My, My I Another new radio program. Can You Equal This? featuring Big Wheel Rigdon, America's top comedianne. The sponsor of the show is the You Know-It soap the best soap in the land. Manufactured by the Cletus Steffen Soap Company. Everybody always said that Clet would go places, only they weren't sure .lust where. What do you think of this advertisement? Onalee Meyer, popular singing star of the Diamond Horseshoe, says: ”1 always smoke Chesterfields, they satisfy. Can -you imagine that! Onalee always told us that she didn’t smoke. I guess that you .lust can't believe anybody nowadays. Special: Famous Jury Trials written and directed by Betty Polege, has .lust been awarded the Gold Medal for the best anti-crime story. Mias Polege is a native of Dunkerton, Iowa. I guess that Bettyfe experience around Dunkerton must have really payed off. Joyce Butler, noted snake charmer, has just signed with Barnum and Bailey! We all know that Joyce has charm. Wonder if Spud sings the little cobras to slee p at night. Let's turn to the Sports page. Headlines! Joe Louis Vs. Razor Hoffman. Odds favor Razor 100 to 1. Razor Hoffman newest sensation in the boxing world is heavily favored to win the bout tonight. Razor one time two-bit fighter of Dewar, Iowa, is managed by his very lovely sister Vesta. In private life. Miss Hoffman, is the wife of Goose Newsom, ace basketball player and well-known sports writer. Looks like Vesta finally made the grade. Do you wanta' be a basketball player? is the last column in the paper. It is written by Robert Wellner the coach of the Iowa Hawkeyes. The Hawkeyes have been victorious In 20 out of 21 games. Wellner's main points of training are obsolutely no smoking, no drinking, and to bed by 9:30 P. M. Wonder who told Cob these were good ideas or did he follow them himself. Could be???? After that bit of nonsense maybe we should take a look at the advertisements. This looks Interesting ! Are yo tired, rundown? Do you have nagging backaches, corns, chillblains, rhuema-tism, or a cross disposition? Try KInsel's Curz-ali, only 50 at your neighborhood drugstore. HMMMM.' Maybe Curz-all cures broken hearts, did you hear that Barbara? Personally I doubt it. Fellahs, does your girl ignore you because you don't have a fancy car? Would you like to take her to the movies if you didn't have to walk? Then call 4377 and ask for Dutch. Donald Musch will get you there if you have the money. Wonder if Dutch's taxi is any better than his car used to be. Here's an idea] Stop and eat at John's Dewsome Inn . John Eldridge serves anything you want to eat. The best food in town I And look who is waiting on tables, Willadeen! I guess maybe it Is cheapen to marry your help than to pay them a good salary. Polks, did you ever have an accident? You didn't like waiting around for the wrecker did you? Then .lust call 4624 Dunkerton and Cletus Wheeler will be right there. Wrecking business? Seems that Clet has had a little experience in that line. Which twin has the Toni? One permanent cost $15....the Toni only $2. Will Toni give you a loose or tight wave? You can have .lust the amount of curl that suits you. Is it easy to do? It’s no trick at all. Will Toni wave all types of hair? Any kind. Which twin has the Toni. Lovely Jim McMahon, the twin at the right has the Toni. And his brother Robert says: When I saw how beautifully Jim's wave turned out, I wished I were the Toni twin. Well, that's the last page of the newspaper. Prom here on you Seniors are on your own.
