JUNIOR CLASS HISTORY On a sunny day in September, in the year 1942, a little band of eager students flocked into the doors at Dundee to begin their education. This group included Pat Webb, Robert Bivens, Carl O'Daniel, Jimmy Nichols, Icavella McClendon, Mary Henson, Floyd Bailey, and J. W. Branch. Our first grade teacher was Mrs. Sessum. The next years were happy ones. In the second grade we were joined by Don Lambert and Etoy Hance and Jimmy Nichols left us to go to Mt. Home. Our teacher that year was Mrs. Manning. The third year saw no additions or subtractions from our group who had for our teacher Mrs. Norville. George McCreary, Joyce Haragan and Bill Brady joined us in the fourth grade. Rob- ert Bivens moved to Madill. Our teacher was Mrs. lack. In the fifth grade we were glad to add Larry Skeleton to our group. Our fifth grade teacher was Mrs. Pass. Mrs. Barton was our teacher in the sixth grade when Jimmy Nichols and Robert Bivens rejoined us. Our Junior High years were marked by several different teachers, Mr. LeGrande, Mrs. McBride, Mr. Starks, and Mrs. Van Hoozer. In the seventh and eighth grades we worked very hard to win the princess race, which we did both years. Mr. Honnald was our seventh grade sponsor and Mr. Jones the eighth. . We were all very happy when we graduated from the eight grade into High School. Patricia Webb and Chuck Chapman were awarded the Ameri- can Legion medals. During our Freshman year Sue Crisp was our candidate for football queen. Mr. Van Hoozer was our sponsor. Sue was again chosen queen candidate in our sophomore year. With the Freshmen, we presented a three act mystery play, Nobgoblin House, which was a great success. lt was a great year for the girls when they were asked to serve at the Junior- Senior Banquet and the Senior Tea. Our Junior year we successfully staged The Custets' Last Stand, a three- act comedy which was termed very successful. Mrs. Everett was again our sponsor. Mary Henson was elected football queen which made all of us very proud and happy. This has been a busy year, working hard to make money for the banquet, memorial and that senior trip which we are all looking for- ward to so eagerly. We are looking forward to another year at Dundee which will see us all graduated and on the road to a successful adult life.
