SENICJR CLASS HISTCRY Our class history started in September, 1941, with Eddie Epley, Pat Thompson, Paul Crisp, Joyce Graham, D.J. Byrd, and Patti Jo Ford being the only members in our class today that started at dear old Dundee. Our teachers during our first six years were Mrs. Sessum, Mrs. Elms, Miss Norvill, Mrs. Jack, Mrs. Collins and Mrs. Gosdin. We were happy to have as new additions to our class Phyllis Stafford, Carolyn Tay- lor, Ron Wilkins, Billy Clark, Jackie Tate, Betty Roberts, J. T. Klock and Maxine Stat- ton. We were all thrilled to enter Junior High. Our sponsors in the Junior High grades were Mrs. Black and Mr. Harris. It was a great occasion when we graduated from the 8th grade. The American Le- gion Awards were presented to Eddie Epley and Betty Roberts. Thus we started on a very eventful trip, our high school education. The freshman year found us struggling for our position in high school. This was not easily obtained, but we soon found that we could be recognized as upper classmen. The end of the Sophomore year was an exciting one, at least for the girls and Jack- ie Tate. We served the Junior-Senior Banquet and Jackie entertained with his piano playing and singing. Our sponsor that year was Mr. Lana. Our Junior year was very successful. Mr. Lana was again our sponsor. We also had the honor of having Phyllis Stafford being elected football queen by the team, This was a year in which everyone had to work hard to make money for a memorial and Junior- Senior Banquet. We chose a Western theme for our banquet which we believe to have been the most successful in many years. ' This being our last year we feel honored but downhearted also. Honored because we can be called Seniors, and because of our success in all of our school years, but downhearted because we know this is the last year we will be among our friends, and we will be faced with the problem of making a place for ourselves in life. Mr. Lana was again elected our sponsor the third consecutive year. We put on a three-act play that was very successful. Even though our last year of high school is over we realize we still have a big job to accomplish before we can say we have had a successful life.
