A SUPERlNTENDENT'S MESSAGE My congratulations to the Tiger Staff for a job well done in presenting the pictoral record of the school year 1952-53. A work of this nat- ure is a serious undertaking and assumes the de- finite responsibility for accurately recording the events of the year to reflect the pupils and their accomplishments and activities in the most favorable light. It has been the responsibility of the Tiger Staff to record here the events of the year. The making of these events has been the responsibility of the en- tire student body. The records and pictures shown here are your records and pictures. The records of events look good or bad according to the effort put forth and the attitude you showed in making those events. I sincerely hope that each of you are quite proud of your record for the school year 1952-53. It is an inescapable fact that most of the people you will come to know, either slightly or intimately, will judge you by the way you talk, by the way you act, and by the effort you put forth in whatever activity or work you may be engaged. This is a partial picture for the records of your accomplishments for one school year. I hope you will have many more years of successful school life and will extend that success into your life work after your school days are over. Sincerely, ' Earl C. Everett PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE You have completed now the course of study as prescribed by the great state of Oklahoma and your Dundee High School. To many of you, your formal education will terminate with the exercises held at the end of this term, to others, your gra- duation will be only another stepping stone on the road to education. Let me point out to each of you that, regardless of age or degree, your education is never quite complete. Education is a growing process and neither elementary nor high school, college nor post-college, can guarantee your abi- lity to become educated. This you slowly absorb by keeping an open mind capable of accepting the good and rejecting any and all theories which tend to break down your moral, mental, physical or relig- ious stature. THONWS ON P.FORD J.TATE ililv' Tkqf' ' p , STAFFORD C,TAYLOR B-ROBEKTS J.T.K LOCK I.GRAHAM B.CLARK SENICJR CLASS HISTCRY Our class history started in September, 1941, with Eddie Epley, Pat Thompson, Paul Crisp, Joyce Graham, D.J. Byrd, and Patti Jo Ford being the only members in our class today that started at dear old Dundee. Our teachers during our first six years were Mrs. Sessum, Mrs. Elms, Miss Norvill, Mrs. Jack, Mrs. Collins and Mrs. Gosdin. We were happy to have as new additions to our class Phyllis Stafford, Carolyn Tay- lor, Ron Wilkins, Billy Clark, Jackie Tate, Betty Roberts, J. T. Klock and Maxine Stat- ton. We were all thrilled to enter Junior High. Our sponsors in the Junior High grades were Mrs. Black and Mr. Harris. It was a great occasion when we graduated from the 8th grade. The American Le- gion Awards were presented to Eddie Epley and Betty Roberts. Thus we started on a very eventful trip, our high school education. The freshman year found us struggling for our position in high school. This was not easily obtained, but we soon found that we could be recognized as upper classmen. The end of the Sophomore year was an exciting one, at least for the girls and Jack- ie Tate. We served the Junior-Senior Banquet and Jackie entertained with his piano playing and singing. Our sponsor that year was Mr. Lana. Our Junior year was very successful. Mr. Lana was again our sponsor. We also had the honor of having Phyllis Stafford being elected football queen by the team, This was a year in which everyone had to work hard to make money for a memorial and Junior- Senior Banquet. We chose a Western theme for our banquet which we believe to have been the most successful in many years. ' This being our last year we feel honored but downhearted also. Honored because we can be called Seniors, and because of our success in all of our school years, but downhearted because we know this is the last year we will be among our friends, and we will be faced with the problem of making a place for ourselves in life. Mr. Lana was again elected our sponsor the third consecutive year. We put on a three-act play that was very successful. Even though our last year of high school is over we realize we still have a big job to accomplish before we can say we have had a successful life. SENIOR CLASS WILL We, the Seniors of 1953, being of sound mind and body, do hereby declare this to be our last will and testament. I, Iack Tate, will my voice to Robert Bivens so he can be in the boys' quar- tet next year. I, Pat Thompson, do bequeath my loving mood to some Junior boy so he can take over Etoy. I, Betty Roberts, leave Jim Nichols to some other girl so she can watch over him next year. I, Joyce Graham, have nothing to leave because I am taking everything with me, meaning Billy Ray. I, Billy Clark, do bequeath my ability to pick raisins to George McCreary. I, Carl Baldwin, will my ability to grow big things to Iim Nichols. l, Phyllis Stafford, do will my honey dripping eyes to Helen Freeman. I, Patti Ford, do bequeath my ear rings to lcavella McClendon. I, Carolyn Taylor, will my shy ways to Pat Webb. I I. T. Klock, will all my knowledge to Sue Crisp. I, Eddie Epley, do bequeath my studious ways to Bill Brady. l, Paul Crisp, do will Mary Henson to Don Lambert. I Ron Wilkins, will my tenor voice to Keith Ward. I, Maxine Staton, do bequeath my ability to make friends with students at Dundee High School. Motto: The higher we climb, the broader the view. 'iv ,f, x Q3 ix x N?S-uf X3 H 1? This group included Pat Webb, Robert Bivens, Carl O'Daniel, Jimmy Nichols, Icavella McClendon, Mary Henson, Floyd Bailey, and J. W. Branch. Our first grade teacher was Mrs. Sessum. The next years were happy ones. In the second grade we were joined by Don Lambert and Etoy Hance and Jimmy Nichols left us to go to Mt. Home. Our teacher that year was Mrs. Manning. The third year saw no additions or subtractions from our group who had for our teacher Mrs. Norville. George McCreary, Joyce Haragan and Bill Brady joined us in the fourth grade. Rob- ert Bivens moved to Madill. Our teacher was Mrs. lack. In the fifth grade we were glad to add Larry Skeleton to our group. Our fifth grade teacher was Mrs. Pass. Mrs. Barton was our teacher in the sixth grade when Jimmy Nichols and Robert Bivens rejoined us. Our Junior High years were marked by several different teachers, Mr. LeGrande, Mrs. McBride, Mr. Starks, and Mrs. Van Hoozer. In the seventh and eighth grades we worked very hard to win the princess race, which we did both years. Mr. Honnald was our seventh grade sponsor and Mr. Jones the eighth. . We were all very happy when we graduated from the eight grade into High School. Patricia Webb and Chuck Chapman were awarded the Ameri- can Legion medals. During our Freshman year Sue Crisp was our candidate for football queen. Mr. Van Hoozer was our sponsor. Sue was again chosen queen candidate in our sophomore year. With the Freshmen, we presented a three act mystery play, Nobgoblin House, which was a great success. lt was a great year for the girls when they were asked to serve at the Junior- Senior Banquet and the Senior Tea. Our Junior year we successfully staged The Custets' Last Stand, a three- act comedy which was termed very successful. Mrs. Everett was again our sponsor. Mary Henson was elected football queen which made all of us very proud and happy. This has been a busy year, working hard to make money for the banquet, memorial and that senior trip which we are all looking for- ward to so eagerly. We are looking forward to another year at Dundee which will see us all graduated and on the road to a successful adult life. :f Q.. . fi r f I 4,01 ff 1 Z N 1' Q3 . G 53 f . X fl , .
