On April 15, many of the class members enjoyed a trip to Washington D.C. and New York City. Highlights of the ltinerary were Harper's Ferry, Virginia, blfthf place of Civil War, Union Station, Bureau of Printing and Engraving, Washington Monument whose 555 feet height afforded us a wonderful v1ew of the city, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Congressional Library, Wh1Ch is the largest l1brary in the world and whlch contains the originals of Declaration of Independence and our Constitution, the Capitol building with its Senate and House of Representatives, the Smithsonian Institute, Pan American Building, a visit to the tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery' and a visit to Mount Vernon, home of George Washlngton, and to the Lincoln Memorial There were so many historlc places that space will not allow even a mentlon of them On our way to New York C1ty we passed through Baltimore, Wllmlngton, and Philadelphia When we reached Jersey City Termlnal, we changed to buses and were ferried across the Hudson to New York City There we saw Radio City, St Patr1ck's Cathedral, Fifth Avenue, Columbla Uni verslty, Grant's Tomb, George Washington Bridge, Hayden Planetarium, Gree wich Village, Empire State Bullding, Wall Street, Battery Park, the Bowery, Llttle Church around the Corner, Times Square, and LaGuard 1a Field, andnmny other spots famous throughout our land Ye also took a Yacht trlp from 42nd Street, down the Hudson, around Battery Park, up the East Rlver as far as the Unlted Natlons Bullding The N B C w1th 1ts Radlo Telev1s1on Tour was a source of keen delight to us The last place visited in Nev York was the Grand Central Stat1on whose vastness and beauty awed us We thank the Junlors for the Junlor-Senior Prom and Banmuet orogram which was engoyed by all who attended, and whlch will always remaln a onderful memory for the Senlors The alre dy distingulshed looking Senlors looked even more so in their caps and gowns when the beautlful bacc laureate services were held Finally, June 1, the day for xhlch we had orked so hard, came received our dlDlOm3S our mm! hi'-Day memories of years spent t Dunde Hlgh School will never be forgotten by the cl ss of 1951 whose class colors were royal blue and sllver, thelr flower, the red rose, and thelr motto, nIn Ourselves Our Future Lies ' Q . . u u Q o Q .
