ladd .Hu tory On the opening day of school, September l2, 1945, there were eighty four freshmen enrolled in Dundee High The fifteen who had been here since kindergarten found it quite easy but for the rest of us it was a strange sight to see all new faces, large rooms, and big halls The first task we were to take up was to choose class officers They were as follows, president, Melvin Smith, vice president, Marilyn Edelbrock, and secretary treasurer, Mary Corbin Our class adviser for the year was Miss Gogarn Our first thrill came when the sophomores initiated us by making us dress up in various costumes Our big event of the year was the Freshman Sophomore Prom which was enjoyed by everyone who attended Our class student council members were Donald McMechan, Robert Brown, and Allen Uhl Finally after a long hard year we became sophomores That year we numbered seventy four Most of us were upset because we did not have the pleasure of initiating the freshmen Our class officers for the year were as follows president, Robert Brown, vice president, Nelson Lamson, secretary treasurer, Dale Gensler Our class adviser was Mr Winans The student council members for the year were Lawrence Denman, Our class play nHold Everyth1ng,' directed by Mr Winans, was a great success Members of the cast were Ronald Matthias, Nadine Turner, Duane Parks, Joyce Zimmerman, Robert Schultz, Marilyn Babcock, Donald Mcmechan, and Carolyn Greer The Freshman Sophomore Prom was held in November and was enjoyed by everyone who attended We started our junior year with sixty four members We again elected officers They were as follows president, Hubert Mead, vice president, Robert Berndt, secretary, Robert Schultz, and treasurer, Donald McMechan Our class adviser was Mr Lewis, and our student council members were Mary Corbin, Nadine Turner, and Allen Uhl Sixteen members of our class were elected to the National Honor Society They were Jane Smith, Geraldine CeBulkey, Marilyn Babcock, Anthony Ternes, Nelson Lamson, Allen Uhl, Dorothy Price, Charlotte Norris, Shirley Howe, Verla Fisk, Joyce Zim erman, Carolyn Greer, Gertrude Gera, Phyllis Dentel, Marjorie Bordt, and Nadine Turner Our junior play, nAdam's Evening,n was presented under the direc tion of Mr Winans Those who participated were Robert Schultz, Nadine Turner, Robert Berndt, Gertrude Gera, Charlotte Norris, Duane Parks, Beverly Sandwith, Hubert Mead, Donald Mcmechan, and Barbara Rosswurm In May we gave a farewell banquet and dance for the seniors Stardust being the theme o Hubert.Mead, and William Knabusch.

We began our senior year with fifty six members We were on our last step before leaving good old Dundee High For our last time we chose class officers as follows president, Hubert Mead, vice president, Nelson Lamson, secretary, Robert Schultz, and treasurer, tary Corbin Our class adviser was hr Lewis Our student council representatives were Iorris Newman, Jillian Knabusch, Dale Gensler, and NarJorie Bordt The annual, one of our most outstanding projects, was supervised by his Norris On April seventeenth most of the class took a trip to Washington, D C and visited the capitol and all the beautiful buildings On May sixth the Juniors bid us fare ell by giving us a banquet and dance Our class motto is Success Ever, Failure Never Our class colors are blue and silver, and our flower is the yellow rose We, the senior class of '49, are sponsoring this annual and hope that you will enjoy it very much . .. . f 4 . . - . 1 1 ..
