HI TORY The class of l95l first organized in the year 1946 when we were in the seventh grade. Our initial efforts to raise money for our class were started. We payed dues and thought we were really important having a class bank account. In the eighth grade we had dues and helped sponser the tap dance review which helped our treasure grow. A We started off our freshman year with a bang electing Charlotte Stanton as our class president. Mr. Hullman was our class advison Although the Ubign seniors sometimes referred to us as Hkidsn we felt very important being one of the nBig Fourn. In June we had our wetn freshman picnic at the Dundee Fair grounds. Our bank account was still growing and we had already started to think about our senior trip. During our sophmore year we had to act a little more Nseriousn since now we were only three years away from that nbig dayn. We all studied harder. fOr did we?J Thomas Davis was elected class president. We couldn't get rid of him as class president for the remaining years in school either. What a personality! we sold school supplies and all occasion cards to help our treasure. We had a sophmore hayride and later on our sophmore picnic at Watkins Glen. It still is a mystery where Mr. Algers put all those hotdogs he ate. In our junior year we still attained the feeling of wanting to make money. With Thomas Davis as president of our class, we really went out to raise money for our senior trip. About two months after our junior year began, we were walking around showing off our class rings. Boy were we proud! Our project of selling school supplies was taken up. The junior play HHome Was Never Like Thisu was a big success. Mr. Nesbitt was a wonderful director. The prom was held in May and Barbara Woodard was the lucky girl to wear the title of HMay Queenn that night. The big Junior-Senior picnic was held at Roseland Park. Was it Gordon Pratt that liked to go through the Hdark spook houseu so well with someone of the opposite sex? At the close of our junior year we had a nice start on our trip, financially. At last we are seniors. Again Thomas Davis was elected president The class had forty-four members. For raising money we -sold magazine subscriptions and are selling candy during the noon hour and at basketball games. Our senior play went off wonderfully. I don't think our history class will ever hear the last of how we looked imitating children from the ages of eight to eighteen in our play production uCheaper By The Dozenu. Mr. Wallace does give the most pleasant comments, or does he? In the future we are expected to hold our Senior Ball. We also await our class trip, the Junior- Senior picnic and finally, graduation day. We, the class of 1951, wish to express our thanks to our advisor Mr. Witter who had helped us reach our goal of achievement. Also we Wish to thank our teachers and our principal, Mr. Depew, for their kindness and patience with us. Shirley Dibble Historian 17
