DEDICHTIUH -' 27' QQ HER The Senior Class of Dundee Central School takes pleasure in dedicating the 1949 Highlander toa former Agricultural teacher Robert Meagher , whose mderstand- 1ng,heIprulness and cooperation in the fieldof sports and rural activities made him one of the u outstanding and most popular teachers who has ever taught in . this school.He served ourschool and community from January 1938 to June 1948. Graduating from the State College of Agriculture at Cornell with a degree of Bachelor of Science and having done graduate work toward his Haster's degree, Mr. Meagher cameto Dundee Central as Instructor in Agriculture Department. An excellent collegiate and a three letter man in football, basketball and baseball at Cornell, he continued his work in sports by coaching the F.F.A. team in Basketball at Dundee scoring with some championship teams. As track coach for Dundee he made outstanding records as he likewise did for Penn Yan High for two seasons. Mr. Meagher produced championship teams. The veterans program was organized by Mr. Meagher and was cited for excellenceby the State Director and Washington authorities for having the largest class withthe bestattend- ance record as well as for the quality and activity of his programs. Mr. Meagher is now associated with Bethlehem Central School in Delmar, N. Y. in the capacity of Agriculture and shop instructor. He is coach of the F.F.A. Basketball which has made a fine showing this year. In addition to this he is coach of the basketball team of Albany College of Pharmacy for which he has received sports' recognition. Friends, former students, and associates of Dundee wish him much happiness and continued success in his new field at Delmar, New York. 5
