The future of the world rests squarely on the shoalders of the boys and girls in American schools and colleges. Strive to put into use those practices which serve the best interest of the majority of our citizens. Thinn for yourself, use intelligently and unsparingly your energy to Keep the freedom which we now hold so that future generations may enjoy to an even fuller degree the benefits of NThe American Way of Lifen. Many years he served as an active member of the Dundee Fire Company and was later made an honorary member, He was elected a member of the School Board of Education in 1951 and served as President from 1955 until the time of his death. He was a Justice of the Peace for several years and also a member of the Town Board of Starkey, Mr, Sproul had a part in nearly every work of value in Dundee and the surrounding communities and contributed his efforts unstlntingly towards the progress and development of them, It is with a sincere and deeply felt regret that the community is deprived of the many benefactions of which Mr, Sproul was capable. It is indeed a privilege and an honor to dedicate this yearbook to the memory of Mr, Sproul who has contributed so much to our school life. 3

1 V 1 r w Harry W. Hall Charles H. Baker Cornelius J.' Sackett President game! af Zdacczffhw The five members of the board, like a pilot of an airplane, guide our school through the year in the events that they think are best. Elected by the people of the Central School District for a term of five years, the board is a legislative, executive, and Judicial body governing the school's ed- ucational welfare. This year two new members take their place on the board. -They are: Mrs. Helen Chadwick who was elected for five years and taking the place of Mr. John Peelle, and Mr. Lawrence Smith who is filling the vacancy left by the death of Mr. Ernest Sproul. The board has purchased a new fifty-five passenger school bus in place of the twelve passenger No. 15, and has acquired as a gift of General Moters Co. and Palmer Chevrolet, lnc. a dual control training car for the pur- pose of letting the Junior and Senior boys and girls become skilled and learned drivers. The board set up a School Safety Patrol through the cooperation of the American Auto- mobile Association to protect our school children on the cross walks to and from the school. Let us be always mindful that the Board of Education is doing its best to help us ob- tain a better education which is so important these days. We owe the members our gratitude, loyalty, and respect for the efforts that they put forth to make us better educated citizens of the world. Laurence J. Smith Vice - President Helen F. Chadwick
