Freshmen quickly learned what it was like to be the little people of D,H.S. and were apt to wander in confused states around the halls. Sopho- mores and Juniors adjusted to their state of suspen- sion between being freshmen and seniors. They com- pensated by trying to imitate the casual struts of upperclassmen. Excitement and confusion of the beginning week of school developed into routine as the commons area soon become the central meeting place for stu- dents gearing themselves back to early morning classes, homework, tests, and new friends. Each year the staff of the Panther Tale chooses a theme for the annual. After much heated discus- sion, the '77-'78 staff decided on a theme quite different from preceeding books. As a unifying element for the Panther Tale, a cartoon of a Su- perbad Panther will be featured in artwork throughout the book since the phrase has become popular within the school. Superbad Panthers can refer to any individual or organization in DHS, even though it was first used to describe the foot- ball team. The panther idea depicts different as- pects of student life during the school year. We, the annual staff, agree that pride, in DHS and in ourselves, is one of the most influencing factors preparing us for life after graduation. Wffffw
