SENIOR HONOR SOCIETY Since the beginning ol' our school system in this country. scholarship has been recognized and eniphasized. Honor rolls have been prepared, special privileges have been granted to pupils who achieved certain high standards and recognition has been Inade at connnencenient. Finally, the feeling to emphasize scholarship became so strong in all sections ol the countrv that the National Honor Society was organized by the Society ol Secondary School Principals. 'l'his society was formed in 1921. Any accredited High School or Prep School lllllf' apply lor a Chapter. Todav, there are almost three thousand chapters in the United States. Nleinbership is based upon char- acter, leadership, scholarship, and service.
