'Just You 'n' Me' is Prom theme, then, graduation Early in May, the juniors hon- ored the seniors with the Junior- Senior Prom and Banquet and named Glenda Bussey and Dan Carrell the queen and king. Just You 'n' Me was the Prom theme, and purple and orchid crepe paper streamers accented with flowers enclosed the dance floor. An alcove with a swing was the spot for couples to be photographed. Three weeks later, the seniors received their diplomas. Between, were track and tennis meets, the Awards Assembly, the Town Kats' Banquet, and other final events. Then the lower classes came to school till May 3,1 be- cause of days taken off during a February epidemic. 'Tis the night before the Prom: the decorating is finished! Juniors arejustly proud! I2 Through the flowery tunnel, K.Cox and H.Nichols enter the purple-hung Prom. i uv- All ready for the Banquet and for their speeches of welcome and reply are Jun- ior Class President Debbie Valdez, Sen- ior Class President Karin Mortensen.

SCOTT PUGMIRE, awarded a four- year ROTC scholarship with the United States Air Force, led the list in value of college grants. Other seniors winning educational aid were Qin alphabetical orderl: DAN CARRELL-Elks' Most Consistent Athlete award: LYNN CHAPMAN-Parent-Teachers Assn., National Honor Society: GAYLE CROCKETT-Spanish Club: CHERYL MAHAN-Sanford College of Beauty Culture: STAN JONES-Joseph H. Lehman Memorial, Eastern Arizona College academic: LESLIE MORTEN- SEN-Phelps Dodge Smelter Coke Fund, EAC Music: DWIGHT PAYNE -EAC academic: JILL WEBB- PTA and Cowbelles. Seniors winning awards were: SAM- MIE BAILEY-John Philip Sousa Band Award: DAN CARRELL-Foot- ball Outstanding in Defense, Hon. Mention All-Conf., Co-Champ, 2 on 2 Basketball Tournament: LYNN CHAPMAN-Outstanding in Com- merce, l00-Word Shorthand Pin, Betty Crocker Homemaker of Tomorrow: JEANIE CLOUSE-Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen Award: BRENDA GALE - Out- standing Homemaker: STAN JONES- Valedictorian, John Philip Sousa Band Award: Outstanding in Tennis: MIKE LUNT-FFA Star Chapter Farmer, Basketball Hon. Billie Lackey won the girls' Gold Merit Physical Fitness Award: Presidential Fitness citations went to Lynn Chap- man, Kimmie Cox, Cindy Dunlap, Nancy Garcia, Marsha Lunt, Sharin Mortensen, Sue Ellen Shreve. Earning art class awards were Tim Cox, Mike Lunt, Cheryl Mahan, Inez Pena, Patsy Quinones, Lewis Webb. Town Kats' Teacher of the Year was Mrs. Nathalie Van Gundy.
