After halfway point, Basketball season claims Wildkats attentlon and Injured ankle can't keep S.Martinez far from the game: it's soak and watch. Appreciating popcorn are H.T. Clothier and J.H. Bowman. Right: Burros ready to eat! N.Merrell brings hers for the GAC concession. Far Right: S.Lujan prepares National Honor Society candy- grams and L.Chapman delivers one to B.Gale. Pages 8-9: Pom pons warm up before halftime. With the middle of the year, cheerleaders were screaming at the gamesg classes and clubs were popping corn furiously and peo- ple were eating it as fast as it was popped. This was the time for a club or a class to earn a little cash for a pet project. Pep as- semblies continued to stage class yelling contests for spirit pointsg the pep band tucked itself into a far corner and tooted for victory. Parents' Night meant corsages for moms and pride for all parents. Exams were overg the faculty played the D Club in basketball. It was Valentine's Day. The FHA-FFA dance was fun. It was the end of a great basket- ball season.

Year's work Brings projects By spring, the ground was swept bare of traces of the old elementary school. The new tennis courts had been in use for many weeks, but track and base- ball teams still were hoping for better facilities. Easter vacation gave a week's break before students began to concentrate on finishing typing budgets, science reports, clothing or reading contracts. The band and choir's year was almost ended after the festival and concerts. Clubs and classes elected new officersg the FHA and FFA installed their officers and recognized outstanding members. Days were warm, dust devils proclaimed that it was spring: seniors were noticeably counting the days till graduation. Sack lunchers find less shade to snooze in as apring sun changes course.
