The answers to this and other questions were the re- sponsibility of the administration of Duncan High School. The furnace problem was solved when Duncan D i s tr ic t 20 appealed to the Greenlee County Superintendent of schools and board of supervisors for permission to exceed the 1968-1969 school budget in order to replace the high school's steam heat system with a gas furnace and forced air heating for first floor and room heaters for the upstairs. DOUGLAS BRUBAKER, Superintendent FLOYD CHAPMAN, Principal For Duncan High, Mr. Chapman accepts from manager Kerry Johnson the team's trophy won at the 1968 volleyball tour- nament. It's no joke to pay for anew heating system, says Mr. Brubaker. However, he must have found the light side at this meeting when the board members signed the contract w ith Mr. Harold Woods of Woods Brothers. to solve many problems Duncan Valley? and How can we ex- pand the vocational education program in the high school? were the subject of many discussions in meetings of the board of educationwith Superintendent Douglas Brubaker and Principal Floyd Chapman. On January 1, after Mr. Wylie Boyd had been elected to the board for a second term, he and Mr. Attaway, Mr. Dozier, Mr. Lunt, and Mr. Willis began their fourth year together as Duncan schools' board of education. Mr. Brubaker this year completed his 17th as s uper inte ndent; Mr. Chap- man completed his fifth as principal.
