The 1960 senior class of 277 students was the twenty-fourth senior class to attend classes at the high school building at 9th and Oak. This was the last senior class that went to school at the build- ing constructed in 1936. Let's go back to 1919, when thirty-nine seniors graduated from DHS. There were twelve boys and twenty-seven girls. ln 1936, there were fifty-one boys and fifty-five girls in a senior class of 106 people. As a class proiect, the senior class of 1941 put linoleum on the floor of the old Student Council room. Other senior classes donated the grand piano in the auditorium and the trophy case. The 1960 seniors have also been outstanding throughout their high school career. In 1957-58, Sue Nell Crutchfield, president, David Holden, vice-president, Karen Johnson, secretary, and Emma Lee Tucker, reporter, led their class. In 1958-'59, the officers were John Ray Green, president, Linda Pat Driver, vice-president, Patti McGuire, secretary-treasurer, and Leigh Smith, reporter. The 1960 officers also served well. The seniors even won the Junior-Senior Weekend this year. Truly this senior class, as those before it, was a good class. SEN
