Mr. Griffin is dear to the hearts of those who have been a part in the athletic program at DHS, not only to the players but to every student that has been on the sidelines. Besides being head coach, Mr. Griffin teaches world history and is sponsor of the Letter- man's Club. He is a fine Christian man and a fine civic leader. For the first time in many years the team selected a queen of the team. STATE TWO BALL CHAMPIONS THE DUNCAN GOLF TEAM DOES IT AGAIN, CAPTURING ALL STATE HONORS. Cotten Dunn wins the highest state golf award. This made Cotten the medalist in the state meet. s.' lm. Bud Babcock Jack Moore, Cotten Dunn, Jerry Hobbs, and Bud Babcock all teamed together to take the state golf match by storm. They won every medal offered. This well rounded track team also h ad Mitchel, Thomas, Vestal, McCord, England, Jackson, and Barnes in the hurdles and field events. The track team is coached by Harvey Griffin. '-K ml, Karts Jimmy England shows his winning form in the hurdle event at a track meet in Haliburton Stadium. Relay and distance men included: Leroy Decker, Gary Kinnebraugh, Arnold Fincher, Bill Green- wood, Larry Blake, and Robert Calmes. The club went on a Western District Field Trip to Clinton and they also attended the State Field Day at Oklahoma City at which time Dud Yount won first in the state contest of profectionist trade.
