Bert Webb OUTSTANDING SENIOR GIRL Mary Frances McCasland was named by the junior class to personify the ideal senior girl. She richly deserves this honor for her meritorious service to the school and her outstanding person- al accomplishments. In addition to being a member of the National Honor Society and a straight AU student, Mary Frances also attained the position of Editor-in- chief of the Smolqcrings and News Editor of the weekly Newscast. She received parts in the jun- ior and senior plays and was elected treasurer of the Student Council for 1947. She is an excellent tennis player. She has taken an active part in speech activities and is a member of the National Forsenic League. We hope Mary Frances's future holds much for her and congratulate her on attaining this honor. -16-. OUTSTANDING SENIOR BOY The Outstanding Senior Boy of D. H. S. for 1948 is Bert Webb. Chosen by the junior class for his many accomplishments in his scholastic and extra-curricular activities, Bert well symbol- izes the ideal senior boy. A member of the National Honor Society, he has maintained an A average for his entire high school career. He was elected and dutifully served terms of vice-president of the Student Council in 1947 and president in 1948. He has compiled an impressive lists of wins in debate tourneys and completed a brilliant basketball career by being named an honorable mention All-State Center in 1948. I-Ie has had important parts in both junior and senior plays and was recognized as a distinguished high school orator. It is with intense pride that we congratulate Bert on his attaining this honor.
