They route the messages and stand a 24-hour guard of all nets. I The signalmen communicate via a method as old as the Navy itself: visual signals. No matter what the vveather, they man the signal bridge to read the flag and light messages from ships in company. The ship's office yeomen are communicators Vl t00. Probably half the paperwork on the ship passes through their hands. Another important communicator is the postal clerk. His job links the men with the world back home.
