M During the period of this deployment, KM Division has propelled the ship in excess of 42,000 miles and has produced almost three million gallons of fresh Water. To accomplish this the men of M Division have at times worked in excess of 100 degree temperatures for periods of 12 hours per day or more. About the only thing that can be done to improve the foregoing working conditions is for M Division to unionize or for the ship to stay in port permanently. However, neither event appears likely.
