REPLENISHING AT SEA A Navy destroyer must be supplied. Her vast fuel tanks with a capacity of over 200,000 gallons need to be continually replenished. Her 250 men need to be sustained. Her guns need ammunition. Her complex equipment requires parts to be shipped from all over the World. The all-hands evolution of underway replenishment supplies these many needs. a Ships steaming precariously close for hours at a time While their crews are straining with slippery lines under the red lights of night is a common sight.
