The most successful football season in our history came to a sudden halt when a hard-fighting Austin out-scored us 20-13 in the City Semi-finals. Our boys astounded the city. Playing under Coach Tortorelli's inspiring direc- tion, the team reached the City Semi- finals. With Austin as their Semi-liinals opponent, the Hellcats gained more ground than did Austin-although our team scored fewer points. Our Mighty Men earned the nickname, Giant Killers , by upsetting a highly- regarded Fenger eleven. Our victory was no accident. It was the triumph of a skillful team that clearly out-played its opponent. Coach Rittmeyer's Frosh-Soph war- riors Wound up a highly-succesful sea- son. Garnett starred on offense, while Charles Hayes and Kennett Board made the tallies. FOOTBALL 91
