Kennedy jAartin Luther or Robert F. IN MEMORIAM And yet we hope that somehow good will be the final goal. To pangs they suffered sins of will Defects of doubts and taints of blood. T ecficaiion “Mess it up if you want to, ’cause Ramsey don’t care.” This ironical statement comes from one to whom we the senior class are proud to dedicate this our 1969 yearbook, “THE TIGER”. BECAUSE your thoughtfulness has moved so many sharp stones from our uphill journey . . . Because your light has shown upon us and warmed our hearts . . . And, BECAUSE you through your selfless devotion have seen that “Children Constitute Man’s Eternity”, have filled our hearts with pleasant memories. For these attributes and many others, we are greatful to you, Mrs. Ramsey 3 Mrs. Virginia Ramsey EDITOR’S MESSAGE I hope that you, the students of Dunbar High School, are pleased with the 1968-69 Tiger. May 1969, will close the doors on our high school education but will open the doors to further education and greater and broader opportunities. Sad at heart, we regret to leave ‘ dear ole Dunbar and our loyal Instructors. As graduating seniors, we shall never forget the thrilling and exciting moments spent here. Through our annual, we wish to recapture the joys and pleasures of our high school days. We will always remember that “Children Constitute Man’s Eternity”. This annual is to be cherished and serves as a symbol of appreciation and gratitude to you, our teachers, parents, friends and all others who contributed. I take time out now to express my sincere thanks to everyone. Sincerely yours, Diane Roberts Mr. Ezra C. Gilliam I congratulate the Yearbook Staff for the successful completion of the tradition memoir—“The Tiger”. This book represents a pictoral review of the school year, 1968-1969. I wish to thank all members of the Dunbar staff, the students, other individuals and organizations who have helped to make this annual project a successful one. I am aware of the fact that this accomplishment is the product of hard work, teamwork, loyal devotion to duty and responsibility. I take this opportunity to inform the graduating class, that you now face new challenges, unchartered seas of new discoveries and hope. Someone said that the greatest opportunity for enterprise still lies beyond the horizon, and that the future belongs to the young and adventurous, who must have the courage and the inititive to reach out and grasp it, then, the willingness to retain it. My final challenge to the graduates is to nurture your mind and spirits as well as the essential qualities of character. The great difficulty man has found, has been good. With all of the out thrust of the knowledge explosion during this generation, there still has not been proven a better set of standards, a better code of conduct, than given by the Master of mankind some twenty centuries ago. 1 dare to tell you that knowledge, talent, tools and techniques could make tliis world a heaven on earth, if these were balanced with morals of goodness, tilings of spirit, and essential qualities of character—This seems to me the big challenge—1 leave with you as you depart from this institution. 6 Mr. C.
