GLADYS JACKSON During her four years at Dunbar, Gladys has been a mem¬ ber of the Glee Club, Dramatics Club, Math Club, and the F.B.L.A. She is planning to be a medical secretary. WENDALL JACKSON Wendall has a strong interest in music which accounts for his membership in the band. He also shows talent as an actor in the Dramatics Club. As boys do, Wendall en¬ joys sports. Wendall’s hobby, working with electric ap¬ pliances, has stimulated him to continue his education in this field at Rowan Technical Institute. FRANCES MARIE JOHNSON Because of her interest and skill in music, she has parti¬ cipated in the band for seven years. She is also a member of the Cheerleader’s Squad, F.B.L.A., Dramatics Club, Safety Patrol, F.H.A., and the annual staff. Her leisure time is spent on her hobby of sewing. Her greatest ambi¬ tion is to become a nurse. VIOLA JOHNSON Viola, better known as “Vi”, has participated in many class and club activities. She is a member of the Dra¬ matics Club and the F.H.A. She has served as class sec¬ retary and as an artist for the annual. Vi’s leisure time is spent on her hobby, sewing. Her greatest ambition is to become a nurse. ROBERT LEE JONES “Sweet J” is very active in school. In addition to being amember of the basketball team, he belongs to the track team. Math Club, and the Glee Club. His main interest is sports, and his ambition is to become an air condition¬ ing and refrigeration mechanic. ROBERT MICHEAL KING In addition to being a member of the football team, Mike participates in the Dramatics Club. He enjoys such out¬ side sports as swimming and shooting pool. Mike is better known as “Kong”. His ambition is to become a barber. 23

DAVID LEE GETER In addition to being a member of the F.F.A. and the Glee Club, he is also a devoted member of the track team. In his spare time he enjoys fishing, hunting, and cooking. His ambition is to become an elementary teacher. EINDA GIBSON Linda Gibson, better known as “Gip”, is an active mem¬ ber in various clubs. In previous years she was Vice-Pres¬ ident of the D.E.C.A., Vice-President of her homeroom, and assistant secretary of the F.H.A. Her ambition is to become a clerk typist. RITA GLADDEN During Rita’s high school days she has been a devoted worker for the D.E.C.A. In her spare time she enjoys dancing. Her ambition is to become a beautician. GAIL ELAINE HARRIS Gail served her school as a member of the F.H.A., F.B.- L.A., Dramatics Club, Math Club, Safety Patrol, and the band. She was a class officer in her freshman class, a waitress for the Junior-Senior Prom, a Junior Marshal, a typist for the yearbook, and a school representative to Tar Heel Girls’ State at U.N.C.G. She is also an honor roll student. Her greatest ambition is to become an elec¬ tronic computer operator. LARRY HEARNE Besides being an active member in the Vocational Ag Class, Larry is a member of the Math Club, Safety Patrol, Dramatics Club, and the track team. His ambition is to become a commercial artist. HATTIE MAE HUFF “Sam” is a member of the F.H.A., Dramatics Club, and the Glee Club. She divides her spare time among sewing, cooking, and collecting articles on famous people. Her ambition is to become a nurse. 22 I

CHARLES KRIDER “Pie” has participated in the Dramatics Club, Math Club, D.E.C.A., and on the track team. Because of his interest and skills in repairing cars, “Pie” anticipates becoming a mechanic. ELIZABETH DIANN KRIDER Because of an avid interest in people, “Foxy” was chosen as teen reporter for the local newspaper. She is also pres¬ ident of her homeroom class, and an officer of the senior class. She is affiliated with various outstanding organiza¬ tions, but is a devout worker in the F.B.L.A., F.H.A., D.E.C.A., Safety Patrol, French Club, Dramatics Club, Library Club, and the Student Council. She is also the 1967-68 homecoming queen. Her genuine interest in fur¬ thering her education is her main objective for participat¬ ing in Project Upward Bound for two years. Her ambition is to become a social worker. ETHELEAN LEWIS Ethelean is a member of the D.E.C.A. and Dramatics Club. Her hobbies are reading, sewing, and playing base¬ ball. Her ambition is to become a social worker. PATRICIA ANN LOMAX Beside being a member of the yearbook staff, “Tricia” is a class officer and a Student Council representative. She is also a member of the Math Club, Dramatics Club, F.B.L.A., F.H.A., and the Safety Patrol. She is interested in becoming an office clerk. I r i k I ROBERTA LONG “Berta” enjoys all academic work as well as extra-curric¬ ula activities. She has participated in several clubs, in¬ cluding the Safety Patrol, Dramatics Club, F.H.A., and the French Club. In her spare time Roberta enjoys sew¬ ing, swimming, and playing ball. She has participated in Project Upward Bound for two years. Her ambition is to be an elementary school teacher. ANGELIA DELORIES LOWERY “Angie” spends her leisure time perfecting her hobbies which are sewing and cooking. She also enjoys reading. Her ambition is to become a cosmetologist. I t f1 24
