GUIDANCE COUNSELOR CONGRATULATIONS SENIORS: You have received your high school diploma. This diploma is society’s way of recognizing the completion of a specific course of study. It is also an expression of faith and confidence in you to use what you have learned in such a way as to reflect honor upon yourselves and your country. You, your parents and friends have looked forward to this day ! As we rejoice over your achievement may we be mindful that this is the beginning. The beginning, we hope, of creative living. Do not become complacent. Be satisfied only in the pleasure of producing, no matter how small or large, something of value for your fellowmen. This is creative living. It is our hope that your high school education has been a challenge to you, that you are leaving Dunbar with a feeling of some degree of success, and that no matter whether you are desirous of furthering your education by attending schools of trade or college, pursuing homemaking or other endeavors, that you will find your schooling has provided a sound foundation for success and happiness.
