Congratulations To the 1959 Graduates of Dunbar High School, congratulations - Your achievements will lead you to your first Big Highway of Life. Enter this highway with a clear, open mind and a constant vision on the Success Signs of Life. Follow these carefully and thoughtfully in your efforts to reach your goal. Thoughts expressed in these lines will guide you: I said to the man who stood at the gate of Years, Give me light, that I may tread safely into the unknown,” and he replied, Go out into the darkness and put your hand into the Hand of God. That shall be to you better than light, and safer than the known way.” Yours for success, Mrs. Doreatha E. Williamson

Congratulations to the Class of 1959 The 1959 graduating class is to be congratulated for having the honor of being the first class to graduate from the beautiful new high school. With increasing demands being made on high school graduates in a competitive world, it is most important that students have the best possible opportunities. It is also important that students take full advantage of every opportunity and facility to prepare themselves for the keen competition that is resulting from better educational advantages. It is also important that education encourage a love for beauty, a respect for property, and ability to get along with students and people generally. Living so close together in the world of today it is a delicate relationship to live in harmony and peace with fellow men. It is my sincere hope that every graduate has been inspired to develop his or her life to the very best possible. Continued study and continued success will undoubtedly go hand in hand. Best wishes for your continued success and happiness. Charles C. Erwin, Superintendent Rowan County Schools 1959
