I'o all the junlors Davld U wllls his sympathy ln bookkeepmg class To all the unlors Charles B leaves hls ablllty have hls studxes done on tlme lo all the unlor glrls Franzette S leaxes her ablllty and deslre to wear Jeans Good luck glrls MISSION COIVIPLETPD IN A MODEL, A One lovely sprlng day ln 1963 a few of us declded we would look up the class of SZ from D H S We were travellng ln a model A Ford and wele relleved to know they had not gone far and that most of them were stlll ln or around the vu lnlty of Dumont Fhc flrst thlng we dld was to get lost on one of those b k roads for which Butler County IS notorlous We stopped at a farm house for dlrect s and were surprlsed to see that the former Dorothy Bruns her husband and many c ldren llved there She told us that the former Beulah lV lller was her nearest nelghbor and that she had twms lVlerla and Berle named for thelr parents She also told us that Frances Oxerturf was teachlng both Dorothy S and Beulah s chlldren IH the nearby red schoolhouse and doing a neat job of It too VK e stopped just outslde Dumont to VlS1t a carnival Whlch was owned and operated by Charlle Boots Charlle gave us free passes for half prlce and we went ln to see the slde shows VN e were just a llttle surprlsed to see that the feature attraction a two headed Jack rabblt was owned by Max Santee We also saw Reka Gronewold here since she was buslness manager and publlclty agent for the Carny Reka told us that her old pal l aDonna Ibellng xx as marrled and llvlng wlth her husband ln Alaska whlle he was putting the flnlshlng touches on the Alaskan Hlghway just after we left the carnlval we ran through a stop slgn and were hastlly plcked up by a patrolman who was none other than Richard Wexchers He took us to the pollce statlon where we dxscovered George Hulsman was the Chief of Pollce Slnce we knew hlm well and xt was our flrst offense he let us off wlth ten dollars aplece Vl hlle we were at the statlon we stopped to talk to Dax ld Ufford who solves all the local crlmes Wlthout movlng from hls swu el chalr or taklng hxs feet from the top of the de k We then left our car at Dorothy Reysack s modern garage for repalrs As xt was gettxng ne ar dmnertlme we declded to buy some food and have a DICIIIC F rom the dlstance we could see Benson s Grocery Store so we went over and plcked up our groceries Who do you suppose the clerk was None other than Frank Benson After eatmg we went out to look up some old frlends ln the blg modern offxce bulldmg whxch was now on lVla1n Street ln this buxldmg we found the offlces of Lorrame Plper and Rhoda Vae Stxrm Lorrame was runnlng a marrlage brokerage and protected her cllentele wxth a double your allmony back guarantee It seems as though Rhoda was runnlng a glrdle lnsurance agency full coverage at rates of fue dollars for the flrst one hun dred pounds and two dollars for every addltxonal ten pounds It seems that the Y W C A IS also located ln thls bulldxng and we went down to talk to the glrls swlmmlng team coach Norman Brown He told us how much he llked hls Job and that after sxx months he now knew all the strokes He also told us that joy Schwab was stlll an old mald and was a professor at Iowa State Teachers College She spends her spare txme wlth her cats 15 r F . . . i . . - 5 9 - ' J f - ' ' ,X . . r -- ' . .l 1 - f , I -I -- - 1 l- . - - , - - . . - , 2 . . . 1 ph - . . .
