' - A Virginia Evelyn I .xx V5 x 149' 'V Marlya Labonna Sue 3 ik 5-x X 7 - 4 Miriam Kathleen Yvonge Franzette 34 BASKETBALL Dumont ended the season with Just a fair record, and seemed to be a hard lucx team most of the season We lost many close ones and ended the season with a conference record of 5 wins and 8 losses There were a few inwurie to bamner us during the year, and we also had to consider the lack of helghth we lose only two seniors this year, Clarence Cordes and De Wayne Shear anc hope to have a much better team next year This Jear's experience alon w th added oral support from both the students and community will no doubt be of much GIRLS BASYETBALL Because there are few girls teams in this vicinity we did not have very many games this year The girls were very enthusiastic about basketball, but did not have the experience that goes to mane a winning ball club The teams our girls were scheduled to play were experienced clubs which, with our lack of experience and practice periods, made it difficult for us to win games The girls made a very creditable showing however, and we have hope of developing more 'nterest and talent next year BASEBALL Dumont ended the fall season with a fair record Lack of ex perience hindered our having the best of season Last year we lost Six of the starting nine, so this year we had to start boys without experience All the boys had about the same percentage for a bat ting average The first of the season was probably the hardest on the new players of the team because the curve balls seemed to be coming right at them and then would cut across the plate Mr Wood coached the boys very well, and had them playing better ball before the season was over This spring we expect to have a better team than the one last fall Ne are expecting new suits for the spring season Some of the boys have been talking and everyone seems to be fired up and ready to 35 'I O ' ' S . 1 Y U , rv- .
