Twelve years ago the present senior class with bright expectant faces presented itself to the first grades of various schools to delve into the mysteries of Readm Ritein and Rithmatic Of the 31 first graders who started here in 37 only 8 girls have remained to the end They are Elisabeth Card Beverly Noelting Phyllis Hartgraves Phyllis Ann Thatcher Frances Wendt, Shirley jones Colleen Wagner and Lora jane Faber The rest of the present Senior class has joined these either in the grades or in high school After going through the usual trials and tribulations of elementary students quarrels pranks and punishment appearing in operettas Scrubbedand shining in new dresses and ribbons, long pants and bow ties we finally entered junior high school with Miss Nissen as our teacher We started our high school year with an enrollment of 31 eager Freshmen full of enthusiasm and extreme ideas which our new principal Mr Cosner immediately curbed anc. directed into the right channels We sponsored a theater party and a roller skating party We entered our Sophomore year with many new faces from Aredale This was another year we enjoyed to the fullest The home economics girls served the school board dinner and presented a style show of che garments we had made The manual training boys also made many nice projects During our Junior year we had much fun and excitement Under Mr Lee s direction we presented the junior class play If This Be Bliss Through the sponsorship of Miss Culbertson we gave a banquet for the Semors The decorations were breath taking and oh what lovely dresses In September as Semors we entered school with a new dignity befitting our classification This year our big tasks are to edit the school newspaper and to publish the annual Dumont High will suffer greatly the loss of the Senior boys and girls on the athletic teams and music groups We will always be grateful to our parents and teachers for making it possible for us to arrive at this Junction of our educational career ANNUAL POLL De Wayne Shear Most perfect facial features . .
