S The Senior Class of Nineteen Hundred and Fifty eight started on its tourney through the halls of Dumont High School in September T954 We were a pretty green group as to the ways of high school life but after we were welcomed at the Freshman Reception which was given in October by the sophomores we felt a little more at home We soon came to realize that there really wasnt an elevator to the fourth floor and a swimming pool on the roof During our first year the only class officer we had was Mary Ann Woods who was the S O Representative The next September we came back to D H S with the feeling that we were ready to hand out to the freshmen a little of the medicine that had been given to us We immedi ately began to sell elevator tickets and passes to the swimming pool Then in October it was our turn to welcome the freshmen at the Freshman Reception which was held in the gym and was decorated with a winter theme Our class that year was run by a group of officers who had been elected after a week of campaigning the preceding spring They were Carol Phster President Marilyn MacGregor Vice President Ardeth Maclean Secretary Carol Danisch Treasurer and Mary Ann Woods S O Representa tive When Mary Ann moved her office was taken over by Donald Rabush Carol Pfail replaced Marilyn when she moved Our iunior year began with a bang as we were second only to the seniors In the fall of the year we sponsored the traditional Junior Barn Dance For this occasion the gym was decorated with a fall theme featuring a lail where unfortunate dancers were im prisoned by a band of sheriffs The Oritani Field Club was the scene of the Junior Prom Ronnie McGowan was queen for the evening Planning these activities were the class officers Donald Rabush President Audrey Faessinger Vice President Diane Henri Secretary Ann Horn Treasurer and Lynn Smith S O Representative Our senior year was marked by our entrance into activities including football basket ball baseball track Periscope Reveries the Senior Play and our Sno-Ball. Donald Rabush served as S. O. President. Our class officers were: Bill Bresnan Presi- dent- Audrey Faessinger Vice-President- Diane Henri Secretary- Ann Horn Treasurer- and Carol Kent S. O. Representative. In no time at all we found ourselves with the laughs and memories of Class Night and finally with the tears at graduation Our years of high school were marked with friend- ship a spirit of optimism and fair play and our best efforts in scholastic records. As we go on to acquire a broader education or out into the world to follow careers we shall look back with love and loyalty to school and its teachers who have so carefully tried to mold our lives. To their guidance and ability we owe much for what we are yet to become. 10 kt? IAC t K I ' Q ' ww til- NNW. :sg 5155 Sv 15 01' K-

xi' I ...gl---P Foreign Exchange Student It was a wonderful experience being here in the United States and becoming acquainted with its cus- toms and its people. It was particularly exciting to attend Dumont I-Iigh School and to discover what is going on behind those stern vvalls. I found only friendly people and a terrihc school spirit. I was very happy to be able to have taken part in the en- ioyable extrafcurricular activities. I want to talce this opportunity to thank the student body, the taculty, and all who have made my stay here possible and so very pleasant. I shall miss Dumont when I return home. Come and visit me in Sweden! Margaretto Persson 11 'psig
