There ' s always someone trying to set the world on fire. Aaw, shucks ' Dat ' s my goil! . . . the hours for movies and gatherings at the Rock with a bonfire and marshmallows . . . for sledding on Union trays when there ' s snow on the ground . . . or bowling, or a rare roast beef sandwich at the Rat . . . steaks at the Angus Barn or the Ranch . . . pizza with Bat. The scramble for dates . . . East sits home while West swears that ' ' ' ' everyone is dated up for weeks ' ' . . . the cosmetic rites for someone special . . . showers, shaving cream, hair dryers, cologne . . .frat songs and combos . . . the ' Hot Nuts, ' ' Sceptres . . . twisting, laughter, deafening hilarity, unleashed inhibi- tions, glaring purity lights . . . aspirin before bed, Alka- Seltzer in the morning. So it goes, one day after another . . . all are similar, yet each differs in some slight way . . . moods change and the day is good, bad, indifferent — despair, joy, love, tragedy, excitement, disgust, fatigue — a helpless emotional chaos.
